The first historical Testimony for the settlement is the inventory 1881. In that inventory teaches that village Agios Mamas is apartment of Municipality of Roykakas (current Hrysopigi) and was lived by 42 individuals all Moslems in the religion. At all probability partisans of sect of Ali, substantives Shiite doctrine contrary to the overwhelming majority of Ottomans that was Sunni in the doctrine. How it is possible is lived a settlement exclusively from Muslims and to bring Christians name is literally inexplicable. Probably the fear of Muslims to go against the Saint Mamas and the afraid of his power make them not to change the village name.
At the revolution of 1897 the settlement depopulates after its residents left in order to save their lives and they went to the village of Dafni where with their other people of the same religion try to escape from the rebels. After the fall down of Dafni to the rebels, all Muslims from Agios Mamas united with the Muslims of Krya and they left to Sitia. Unfortunately same rebels arrested them and they killed all. After the end of revolution only two families left in the village.
During the inventory of 1901 in Agios Mamas was 6 habitants 4 Muslims and 2 Christians. The last inventory with inhabitance was on 1920 and Agios Mamas had 23 residents. Unfortunately after the exchange of populations between Greece and Turkey the village of Agios Mamas was abandoned it and after that it has never had permanents residents.
